It’s no secret that US president Donald Trump posts ridiculous tweets on twitter since he got into the White House.
From getting into twitter feuds with celebrities such as John Legend and commenting on official matters that would rather be channeled differently Trump has gotten his fair share of backlash from the public for his tweets.
However one democrat Kamala Harris has had enough and is now taking things to the next level. The democratic candidate has accused the platform
of showing leniency on Trump even when he violates the platform’s rules and regulations.
Twitter however responded by saying it can’t suspend his account because his tweets are a matter of public interest and besides that he hasn’t violated their rules and regulations.
Twitter also added in a blog post’ Its mission is to allow people to engage their leaders directly and is sticking to a policy first laid out in June.
Under those rules, tweets by world leaders that violate the platform’s policies will stay online if they have a “clear public interest value.”
However the company has said It will take action if tweets promote terrorism, include private information or intimate photos, engage in child sexual exploitation, promotes self-harm or threats made against an individual.
Ms Kamala in a letter she wrote to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey that said that Trump had broken the Twitter’s rules by using his account to target and harass the whistleblower at the center of the Ukraine scandal. He went on a twitter rant calling the whistleblower a spy,a liar and many other derogatory names.
