The total number of users for phone-based over-the-top (OTT) messaging platforms is expected to grow to 3 billion by 2022 with more and more people purchasing smartphones everyday.
WhatsApp currently owns the lion’s share of users worldwide and is projected to grow by 7 billion users in 2020 and 2.87 billion in 2021.
