Bill Cosby (81) has been sentenced to 3-10 years by a Pennsylvania judge after he was convicted in April for three counts of aggravated indecent assault for drugging and raping Andrea Constand at his home in 2004.
Cosby’s bail was also revoked and he was lead away in handcuffs from the courthouse. In a press conference, Cosby’s publicist, Andrew Wyatt, referred to the sentencing as racist, sexist and compared the situation to Jesus.
“I believe and think it is important to point out that this has been the most racist and sexist trial in the history of the United States.”
He was also categorised as a sexually violent predator, meaning he must undergo counselling for life and be listed on the sex offender registry.
The comedian became a household name in 1980s America when he starred in the Cosby Show TV sitcom, playing the father in a well-to-do African-American family living in Brooklyn, New York.Such was his popularity that he was dubbed ‘America’s Dad.’
