Nicki Minaj Accused Of Cultural Appropriation In Her SNL Chun-Li Performance

Nicki Minaj performed on her song Chun-li and Poke it out feat Cardi B from her upcoming album  on Saturday Night Live,the last show of the season.This is the first time since Decemberthat Nicki Minaj performed Motorsport,a song she did with Migos and Cardi B.

Her performance got heat and people were offended cause of cultural appropriation used in her performance . Nicki used Chinese culture and was the overall theme for her performance.

Chun-Li was based on a video game character in the game street fighter.She is a good and kind character and she included the concept in the song basically stating that “am a good person but people think am the bad guy.

Nicki Minaj repeated the same statement in an interview on the MET gala carpet saying that many people think she is the bad guy when she isn’t.

Nicki Minaj has thrown jabs at Cardi B and Remi Ma in the past.She has also been accused of having a bad attitude behind the scenes by other artists such as Demi Lovato.

Avril Lavigne got under fire a few years ago for appropriating Japanese culture in her song Hello Kitty that led to a decline in her career.
