The Carter V will unfortunately be Lil Wayne’s last album.This is after the rapper dropped his album yesterday after a four year delay.
The Carter V was supposed to be released in 2014 but was delayed due to a gruelling lawsuit between him,Cash Money Records and Universal Music Group.
The lawsuit was finally settled earlier this year with Wayne winning back his creative freedom and walking away with 10million.
The Carter V has gotten positive reviews so far with celebrities like LeBron James and fans alike sharing their excitement through social media.
Weezy started his winning streak when he began Tha Carter series in 2004 when he released Tha Carter as his fourth studio album.Since then all his albums have been successful with some going Platinum and Gold.
Tha Carter was released on June 29, 2004, by Cash Money Records and Universal Records.The album debuted at number five on the Billboard 200, with first week sales of 116,000 copies in the United States.
On September 7, 2004, the album was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over 1,000,000 copies in the United States.
As of November 2005, the album sold 1,876,442 copies in the United States. In 2008, Tha Carter’s sales went back up on hype that Tha Carter 3 was coming and re-entered the Billboard charts at #33.
