French forward Kylian Mbappe plans to donate US $500,000 to Premiers de Cordees, a French association that organizes sporting events for children with disabilities.
$350,000 of the money being donated came from Mbappe winning the World Cup and the remainder was his pay from the seven games in the tournament.
Mbappe grew up in a poor neighborhood in Paris to winning the World Cup and now he’s doing his part to give back.
The general manager of Premiers de Cordee said,“Kylian is a great person.He has a very good relationship with children, he always finds the right [words to encourage them. I sometimes even feel that he takes more pleasure to play with the kids than the kids themselves.”
Mbappe scored 4 goals in the world cup,he doubled as the Best Young Player. The 19 year old’s goal against Croatia made him the first teenager to score in a World Cup final since 17-year-old Pelé did 1958.
