Apple offers $1 million to researchers who can find flaws in iPhones

Apple is offering $ 1,000,000 to any cyber security researcher who will find bugs or flaws in iPhones. This comes just months after a teenage user found a bug that could record a user before they pick a call. This caused public outrage and forced Apple to apologize.

Since then they gave out a bounty of $200,000 for friendly reports of bugs that can then be fixed with software updates and not leave them exposed to criminals or spies.

This move also comes after Trump’s government was accused of hacking phones of human rights activists, journalists or anyone perceived to be a threat to obtain information.

A number of private companies, such as Israel’s NSO Group, sell hacking capabilities to governments leaving users unsafe and at the mercy of the American government.
