Moet Hennessy gets into distribution deal with viva global

Moet Hennessy has gotten into a lucrative money making distribution deal with Viva Global Limited in order to increase its market penetration and brand visibility in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.

Moet Hennessy, a brown spirit brand, Moet & Chandon, Glenmorangie and belvedere vodka are some of the brands owned by the company that will be distributed in the regions named above.

General Manager Eastern Africa and Arabian Gulf at Moet Hennessy Mrs. Anne-Claire Delamarre said, ‘Viva global has the right network, infrastructure and capabilities to drive uptake of its various products and brands in the region. ‘

She added, ‘We chose Viva Global because of their fine wine portfolio, infrastructure, equipment, market knowledge and financial muscle.’

Viva Global was established in Kenya in 1999 and began its distribution of spirits and beer in 2005.Today Viva is in Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda representing various wine and beer makers. Viva global for the last 19years has managed to develop a successful distribution network in East Africa including off trade and on trade clients backed by effective marketing and a good business development strategy.

Mrs. Delamarre also noted,’ the growing middle class economy in Kenya gave Moet Hennessy the opportunity to tap into the middle class income with the main aim of growing its revenues and sales. With more disposable income and the increasing appetite for international brands, we believe this is the right time to invest in Kenya. It is also evident in the uptake of our wine and spirit brands because of their high quality and standards that resonate with the customer’s taste and culture.’

Chief executive officer at Viva global Ltd Mr. Rupen Samani stated that, ‘ We are essentially a premium drinks company and are taking different brands to all parts of Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda. The company has strengthened its distribution portfolio in the region to satisfy the needs of the customers.’

Moet Hennessy is a wines and spirits division of LVMH and the largest wines and Spirits Company in the world with 23 brands internationally.
