King of country music, Garth Brooks lost his top spot on the Forbes list to singer and American Idol judge Luke Bryan who pulled in $52 million thanks to his worldwide headlining tour where he grossed seven figures nightly,his endorsements with Chevrolet and new job as a judge on American Idol.
Over the past three years Garth took the lead by selling more than 6 million tickets on his North American tour with wife Trisha Yearwood and being the genre’s highest-paid acts.The singer brought in $45.5 million this year.
Kenny Chesney thanks to his Trip Around the Sun tour ,Blue Chair Rum and his endorsement deal with Corona took third position with $37 million.
Blake Shelton took number 5 on the list with $28 million while country band Florida Georgia Line took number 6 with $27 million.The top ten acts earned $304.5 million over the past year, nearly 20% more than the ten highest-paid DJs, who pulled in $260 million during that span.
Dolly Parton took tenth position this year bringing in $19 million dollars after playing far fewer shows this year. She is the only woman on the list.Her income came from her Dollywood theme park and dinner theater establishments.She is also owns her own music publishing and master recordings.
