Big Winners At The 2020 Grammy Awards

The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony was held on January 26, 2020, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.It recognized the best recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year, running from October 1, 2018, to August 31, 2019. Alicia Keys hosted the ceremony having done the same a few years prior.

Lizzo received the most nominations of any artist with eight, followed by Billie Eilish and Old Town Road hit maker Lil Nas X with six each.Eilish and her brother Finneas received the most awards, with five wins each. Upon this, Eilish became the first artist to win the major four categories of Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist in the same year.

Best New Artist went to new comer Billie Eilish while Lizzo took home best pop solo performance for her song Truth Hurts.Best music video went to Lil Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus for their song Old Town Road while Queen Bey took best music film for Homecoming. Michelle Obama took home best spoken word album which (Includes Poetry, Audio Books & Storytelling) for her audio book Becoming. 

Best Children’s Album went to  Jon Samson for his album Ageless: Songs for the Child Archetype while best gospel album went to Kirk Franklin for his album Long Live Love.Best Country Album went to Tanya Tucker for her album While I’m Livin’ while Best Country Song went to Bring My Flowers Now” by Brandi Carlile.

Best Rap Song went to 21 Savage and J Cole for their song “A Lot”while Best Rap Album Igor went to Tyler, the Creator.Best R&B Album went to Anderson Paak for his album  Ventura  while Best R&B Song went to PJ Morton featuring JoJo for their song Say So.
