Cabinet secretary for government and national coordination Dr Fred Matiangi today reassured Kenyans on their security and asked every Kenyan to go about their daily business as usual with confidence.
Mr Matiangi said,”Kenyans from all over the country expressed their democratic will through the ballot yesterday. This has so far been the most peaceful pre-election and election period since independence because of improved management of the electoral process and security of the country. So far there have been no major security incidences. Our security agencies remain vigilant, and are still at hand to provide security and maintain law and order through out the country.”
He commended Kenyans for maintaining peace and for collaborating with security agents all over the country.
Dr Matiangi added, “As the IEBC concludes the tallying process and determines the leaders, I urge all Kenyans to await in calm and to reject any incitement to cause chaos or participate in any unlawful criminal activity.I also take this opportunity to sternly warn against the abuse of social media and particularly the circulation of fake news.”
This comes just hours after Nasa principals came forward to accuse the independent Electrol and boundaries commission for violating form 34A and 34 B.
