Laboso,Waiguru and Ngilu make history as first female governors

Charity Ngilu, Anne Waiguru and Joyce Laboso are set to make history as the first women to clinch the gubernatorial seat in Kenyan history.

The women who were running for governor in Kitui, Kirinyaga and Bomet county respectively surpassed their male counterparts in an election and political era that is male dominated.Their win comes as a surprise in this highly competitive and contested election.

Charity Ngilu ran for the position on a narc ticket while Waiguru and Laboso both ran on a jubilee tickets.
