Golfer Frankie Gichuru soared high to win this year’s Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK) Golf Tournament

Golfer Frankie Gichuru soared high to win this year’s Institute
of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK) Golf Tournament held at the
Karen Golf and Country Club

Gichuru, winner of the 2016 Nation Media Group (NMG) longest drive
title carded an impressive 42 points to rule the roost in the 19th
edition of the annual golf tournament mainly consisting of quantity surveyors and architects

Deep Patel beaten by Gichuru on countback emerged as the best male golfer by scoring 42 points ahead of H.M Kariuki (39 points) and Ayodo Owino (38) to finish second and third respectively.

The Kabete Ladies Invitational tournament individual winner Grace Wanjohi emerged victorious for the women’s top prize by scoring 37 points.

David Gaitho a founding Director of Amazon Consultants won the
Quantity Surveyors title by carding 33 points.

National Construction Authority, Director Jennifer Musyimi and
Rosemary Njogu posted 32 points for Anka Consulting Limited clinch the team title.

“I played well, despite the captain trying to make the greens very
hard for us. I focused on what had brought me here today and that’s
how I won, It was an impressive victory. This is indeed my greatest
win and I thank the sponsors for all the gifts” said an elated Gichuru
said after receiving her prize.

The event whose title sponsors were Mabati Rolling Mills (MRM) was sponsored Jumbo Chem, Apex Steel, YMR Partnership, Aluglass Africa Limited, Kenya Builders, Cementers, Jos Hansen, Ideal Ceramics, Saj Ceramics, Accurate Steel, Madison Insurance, Air Mauritius, Davis and Shirtliff, Rosewood Furniture, Hot Point Appliances and Redbull.

The tournament is organized yearly to raise funds to facilitate
services for IQSK membership and members of the society in the
building industry.

It further provides a networking platform for construction
stakeholders in order to form sustainable professional contacts that will enhance their market presence and also to position and publicize IQSK, as a professional body.
