Tell us about yourself: My name is Lindah Kiyeng and I am the first born in a family of three children.
How would you describe your childhood?My childhood was fun but I had a lot of challenges growing up.I was always the kid who was pulling pranks on people and threw parties when my parents were not around.
How did you start vlogging? I was a student at Strathmore University in 2013 when I decided to start blogging and vlogging.I became an active blogger and began using a wix sub-domain.I was a vlogger from 2013-2016.I did mostly DIY beauty videos where I would share do-it-yourself home remedies with the public.I would also give fashion tips from time to time.
When did you decide to venture into public relations? I went into public relations shortly after becoming a well known vlogger in the country in 2016.Once I completed my degree in journalism and public relations at St Paul’s University I started my pr firm with the pocket money I had saved while in college.I also worked with some major media houses before my pr firm picked up.I was an english news sub editor and ATG radio and a writer for the Sunday Express anjd CEO Africa.
What are some of the challenges you have faced in your journey? Some of the biggest challenges I faced was marketing the company cause I needed big bucks plus with the declining economy most of my clients shut down and set up shop in South Africa to cut costs.
What has been the highlight of your career? It was when I was named most influential vlogger before I got into public relations and joining UNCTAD youth as their corporate affairs in 2019.
How has your experience been so far? I never thought I would once work with an organization as big and prestigious as UNCTAD youth but I am very grateful God gave me this opportunity.This opportunity has given me a chance to meet Presidents,diplomats and the elite
What advise do you have for the youth? I would advise the youth to stick to their dreams and fight for them no matter what is thrown their way.
What do you love doing during your free time? I am a mother of one Leilani Bett.I love spending time with her each moment I get.She is my everything and she inspires me to be the best person I can be.
How do you balance work and family? I balance work and family well but I put my child before everything.
What are you most grateful for? I am grateful for my child,my family and that Lindah Kiyeng Communications has managed to grow tremendously over the years with 2020 being the first year we release our quarterly report.
Who are majority of your clients?Most of my clients are high profile lawyers,Corporates,NGOs and motivational speakers.
She has also written articles for several publications such as CEO Africa and the Sunday Express.
