Elle Magazine yesterday honoured the most powerful women in Hollywood in an event that was filled with pomp and color. The event that was held in Beverly Hills saw women such as Grammy and Golden Globe winner Lady Gaga,Shonda Rhimes,Lupita Nyong’o,Sarah Paulson, Yara Shahidi,Charlize Theron,Keira Knightley,Danai Gurira,Angela Basset and Mia Farrow honoured with the prestigious award.
Black-ish star Yara Shahidi was the youngest winner of the night at only 19 years of age.Lady Gaga who is already receiving Oscar buzz for her role in A Star Is Born couldn’t hide her excitement and took the opportunity to announce to the world that she is engaged as she accepted her award.
Black Panther stars Lupita Nyong’o,Danai Gurira and Angela Basset were also honoured after Black Panther became the highest-grossing superhero movie of all time.The film made it big thanks to these talented women who represented women in such a graceful way in the film.
Producer Shonda Rhimes was also honoured for her amazing work on Grey’s Anatomy.It is currently the longest running medical drama in TV history.Ocean’s 8 actress Sarah Paulson was also honoured after taking Hollywood by storm in 2016 after winning an Emmy for her iconic portrayal of Marcia Clark in The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story.She has gone ahead and star in films such as Ocean’s 8 alongside Rihanna and Anne Hathaway and Unbreakable.Other big winners of the night were Keira Knightly and Mia Farrow.
